Diana Evelyn Villa-Guillen have extensive research experience in supramolecular chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry. As an undergraduate, she was able to research with Dr. Karen Ochoa-Lara on the synthesis and characterization of supramolecular compounds. During her masters, she worked with Dr. Eduardo Ruiz-Bustos on the identification and characterization of heat shock binding proteins of Helicobacter pylori spp. She acquired experience in teaching and mentoring chemical sciences to college-level students at the Department of Engineering and Environmental Sciences at the University of Sonora State, Mexico. She has earned the prestigious scholarship for doctorate studies in foreign countries by CONACyT Mexico; and co-authored the publication “Phase II Study of Metformin for the Reduction of Obesity-Associated Breast Cancer Risk: A Randomized Controlled Trial Protocol” along with Dr. Sherry Chow and her research team. She has involved in research aiming to assess cancer burden in communities with health disparities affected by the chemical spills at Sonora and Mayo Rivers.
