Dr. Sia is a licentiate of both Dentistry and Medicine and is an International Board Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and practice limited to it. He holds the position as Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Gullas Medical Center – University of the Visayas and a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, Makati Medical Center, University of Cebu Medical Center, Chong Hua Hospital Group and Cancer Center, Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines, and other major hospitals in Cebu and Manila. Currently, he is the Vice President of the Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at Cebu Doctors’ University and an Honorary Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital. He was appointed as the International Relations Officer for the Philippines of the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and the Editor-in-Chief of the EMS Otolaryngology Journal and editor in various journals in Surgery, Otolrhinoaryngology, Oral Health and Dentistry, and Research. Dr. Sia completed his dental qualification at the Cebu Doctors’ University, medical qualification at the University of the Visayas, Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery, and Master’s Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Clinical Fellowship grant by Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) Craniomaxillofacial Foundation at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. Furthermore, he obtained the Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. He is a Fellow of the International Board for the Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, International and Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Philippine Academy of Head and Neck Surgery, International College of Continuing Dental Education, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Active member of the International College of Maxillofacial Surgery, International Academy of Oral Oncology, and International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation. Research interest includes Regenerative and Reconstruction techniques in Maxillofacial region, Bone Grafting, Reconstruction with Oral Implants, Biomaterials and Growth Factors, Orthognathic Surgery, Cleft Surgery, Pharmacology, and Quality of life in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery patients.
