Giovanna Lucia Maria Damia starting from her MD graduation. Her main interests have been: the study of mechanism of action of anticancer agents, cytotoxic and targeted agents; the mechanisms of resistance to anticancer agents; DNA repair as possible mechanisms of resistance/sensitivity to anticancer agents; the development of ovarian carcinoma preclinical in vitro and in vivo models to better understand the biology of ovarian tumors and test the activity of potential new combinations; the unravelling of the signaling transduction pathways involved in DNA damage checkpoint (chk1, p53, ATM, BRCA, FA); gene expression profile; tumor initiating cells/cancer stem cells of the ovary. She is author of more than 110 papers (H index: 29). She has a strong background in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and translational oncology.
